How To Use Serum Activating Pads: A Step-by-Step Guide

If you’ve never tried a serum activating pad before, think of it as a little pre-game boost for your skin. It’s soaked with a gentle formula that smooths and preps your face so the rest of your products sink in better. Here’s how I like to use them.

Serum-Activating-Pads

Step 1: Start with clean skin.
No magic happens on top of makeup or a day’s worth of oil, so wash your face first. Whatever cleanser you love will do the trick — just make sure you’re working with a fresh canvas.

Step 2: Swipe it on.
When you open the packet, you’ll see one side of the pad is textured, the other smooth. Use the textured side in gentle circles over your face (skip the eye area). It’s a light exfoliation, nothing harsh.

Step 3: Let it sit for a bit.
I usually leave it on my T-zone or chin for a couple of minutes — it’s great for calming oiliness and keeping breakouts in check.

Step 4: Layer on your serum.
Once the pad has done its thing, press in a few drops of your favourite serum, focusing on the spots that need the most love.

Step 5: Seal it in.
Finish with a moisturizer to lock everything down. If you want an extra boost, mix in a few drops of a nourishing oil — I often add Mugwort Plant Treatment Oil for that reason.

Step 6: Toss the pad.
When you’re done, just throw it in the trash (no flushing).

A few tips from experience:

·        Dry skin? Three nights a week is plenty.

·        Oily skin? You can use it nightly.

·        Combo skin? Every other night works well.

·        Sensitive skin? Once a week is enough, and space it out.
Skip it entirely if your skin is irritated or broken, and don’t mix with other exfoliants, strong vitamin C, or retinol — it’s too much all at once.

Used right, these little pads can make a big difference in how well your skincare works. The trick is being gentle and consistent, and always following with something hydrating so your skin stays happy.
